Jay-Z domina la lista delle nomination ai Grammy Awards 2018 con un totale di 8 candidature: il rapper e marito di Beyoncé si è portato a casa il bottino di nomination più cospicuo di fronte al rapper e collega Kendrick Lamar, in lizza per 6 premi.
L’artista di 4:44 nonché fondatore di Tidal è nominato nelle tre categorie più prestigiose, il Best Album of the year, il Best Song of the Year (il premio che va all’autore della canzone) e il Record of the year, mentre Lamar si è dovuto accontentare “solo” del Best Album e Best Record grazie al disco DAMN. e alla sua Humble.
Fra le sorprese di questi Grammy Awards 2018 c’è da segnalare l’inatteso ridimensionamento del favorito Ed Sheeran, l’assenza di Million Reasons di Lady Gaga nel best Song of the year e Best Record of the year, l’assenza totale degli ex One Direction Niall Horan e Harry Styles ma, soprattutto, lo strapotere di Despacito.
In barba ai pronostici, Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee e Justin Bieber sono fra i nominati per la miglior canzone dell’anno grazie ad uno dei tormentoni più tormentoni degli ultimi anni.
