La cerimonia, presentata da Alicia Keys, ha visto trionfare Billie Eilish, che si è portato a casa tutti i premi più importanti, fra cui quello per Best New Artist e Album of the year (When we all fall asleep, where do we go?). Il premo finale e più importante, quello per Song of the year è andato sempre alla giovane cantante statunitense per Bad Guy, che ha vinto anche Record of the year.
